Rush Limbaugh, Katie Couric, & Michael J. Fox

Below, Katie Couric interviews Michael J. Fox about his recent clash with Rush Limbaugh. If you don’t know the background, scroll below the video for background and links.

Background:

  • Michael J. Fox has made some TV advertisements supporting pro-stem cell research candidates. In those ads, the symptoms of his Parkinson’s disease and the side effects of his medicine are clearly and dramatically visible. You can view one of those ads HERE.
  • Rush Limbaugh responded by mocking Michael J. Fox, accusing him of faking his symptoms for sympathy and for dramatic effect. You can read the transcript of what he said HERE.
  • Finally, if you want to see a creepy, ineffective, and poorly produced response to the Michael J. Fox ad, click HERE.

Thank you for posting this video.

Michael J. Fox is so articulate and his appearance so full of grace, he illuminates, by contrast, Rush Limbaugh’s vileness and lack of grace.

Rush Limbaugh is evil and does evil things. He and our Vice President are two of a kind.

Aside from thinking MJF is very articulate, this video demonstrates to me that Katie Couric should stick to what she does best — morning shows and/or interviews. CBS Evening News is terrible. Part of the problem is the new format and obvious pandering to potential right-wing viewers who would rather watch Fox anyway. But much of the blame has to fall on the choice of Couric. She just isn’t suited. Diane Sawyer should have been the first solo, female anchor on network evening news.

Hi Joel - Network TV news was a joke years before Couric got there, but I’ll take your word for it that it’s worse now. I don’t watch CBS News, but I did see her interview with George Bush were she was all giggly and flattering him. Terrible.
