As someone who grew up in Boston, I’m all for restrictions on touching. I saw my first switch blade in the 6th grade at the Manassah E. Bradley School (God knows what the modern equivalent would be). Tag was never tag there, even in elementary school. That touching was never privileged.

When I think of all the harmful toys I survived — I have a feeling coming generations of children will have bones like spun sugar and completely melanin-free skin. I can only guess how that will impact the airline industry.

Mary, It’s clear that due to overprotective parents, children of the future will have giant brains in enormous skulls, perched on feeble bodies with long, bony arms and legs. In other words, exactly how I look right now. The days when kids could happly play a game of “Slip ‘N Slide” on Broken Glass Beach are gone forever.
